Remembering the Horrors of Racism: A Visual Reminder
A Reminder of What We Fought Against
After watching old films, reading books, and seeing how attitudes are shifting today, I felt it necessary to post a stark reminder of what racism once looked like. These images are shocking and difficult to view, but they serve an important purpose: to educate and remind us why people fought so hard to end these atrocities.
This was an awful time in history. Let’s not be comparable. Let us remember the past not just to mourn it, but to ensure we never allow such hatred and systemic injustice to rise again.

Why These Images Matter
While these images are painful to view, they are a crucial part of history. They remind us of the cruelty that can arise when hate is institutionalized and allowed to thrive. These atrocities are not ancient history—they are recent enough to have shaped the lives of our parents and grandparents.
Today, as we see new forms of racism emerge and old prejudices resurface, it is vital to understand the cost of complacency. Remembering this history is how we ensure it is not repeated.
Reflect and Act
If these images move you, use that feeling to take action. Learn, educate others, and fight against the injustices we still face today. Share this post if you feel it can help someone understand the gravity of racism and the importance of continuing the fight for equality.
Let’s honor the strength of those who endured these times by ensuring their struggle was not in vain.
