Black History For Beginners by Denise Dennis

Black History for Beginners

This is an excellent book; I found this book in my early 20's. It was more designed for young people in their teens. However it was useful for learning about the different times. When slavery started and ended. What laws were introduced and when?  It is a small book, and gives you a good outline and basic knowledge for you to work from.

I have lent this book out to others, who were just finding out about black history, and it is a very useful tool if your just learning or don’t want to get too deep into what happened. It doesn't scare you with awful pictures and stories and is an easier first step into black history. It may leave you curious for more, so stay tuned to the blog for more recommendations
